Captain Alex

I have seriously taken up sailing about 15 years ago, starting with beach catamarans on lake Balaton. Very quickly I progressed to obtaining coastal and then ocean certificates. Charter turns all over the Med from Greece to France were next. I participated twice in the RORC Fastnet Race and in 2011 I did my first Atlantic crossing crewing for a German Skipper.

From 2013 till 2018 I lived in the Caribbean, Antigua & Barbuda, where I owned a restaurant by the name of Mayday and bought Joy and used her commercially for day tours and turns to the surrounding islands like St. Martin, St. Barths, St.Kitts & Nevis, St. Eustetia, Saba and Guadeloupe. In 2018/2019, in a double-handed turn, I took Joy across the Atlantic from Antigua via St. Maarten, Bermuda and the Azores Islands to Tangier, Morocco.
